Milford Manufacturing Services Appoints Douglas E.
Voiland as
Vice President, General Manager
Milford, Mass. – September 29, 2003 – Milford
Manufacturing Services, a highly-flexible, fully-equipped
EMS contract manufacturer specializing in low-volume,
high-mix projects for OEMs of all sizes and stages
of production, has named Douglas E. Voiland to the
position of vice president, general manager. Voiland
will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations
of the organization.
Voiland brings more than 25 years of business experience
to Milford Manufacturing Services. Throughout his career,
Voiland has worked with numerous mid-market business
owners, providing strategic advice to help solve their
most complex business and financial problems. Voiland
also founded Abacus Associates, LLC, a firm providing
operations, financial and sales management services
to a variety of early stage and mid-sized companies.
Prior to his appointment, Voiland had been consulting
with Ed Price, owner and president of Milford Manufacturing
Services, on the development of The Looking Glass™,
a unique virtual, extended manufacturing environment
providing OEMs 24X7 online access to information with
control of their product and supply chain throughout
the manufacturing process. The Looking Glass™ is
an “end-to-end” system of access and collaboration
enabling OEMs to instantly respond to the rapidly changing
needs of their customers.
“Doug draws on more than two decades’ worth
of hands-on finance, business operations and sales
management experience in the industry,” stated
Price, “His insight will be invaluable as our
management team begins implementing The Looking Glass™,
providing for more effective business strategies and
process improvements.”
Voiland is a graduate of Suffolk University and a
CPA. He is a member of several boards of directors
and advisors as well as numerous professional organizations
including the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants (AICPA) and the American Production and
Inventory Control Society (APICS).
Voiland resides in Andover, Massachussetts.
